ALDER SPRINGS VINEYARD

This Mourvèdre hails from the renowned Alder Spring Vineyard located in far northern Mendocino County, California. The unique coastal influence and steep sandstone slopes contribute to a balanced wine with vibrant acidity.

VINIFICATION

The grapes for our 2023 Mourvedre were harvested and destemmed on October 19th, 2023. After a 3 day cold soak, there was an 8 day primary fermentation followed by 5 days extended maceration. Aged 10 months in 3+ year old French. Blend consists of 99% Alder Springs Mourvedre, 0.5% Syrah and 0.5% Grenache.

TASTING NOTES

You can expect aromas of black cherry, mulberry, and dark plum, along with hints of dried rose, anise, and black pepper. Aged for ten months in French oak, this medium-bodied wine is enhanced with fine-grained tannins.
